Bitcoin Tax by Country

Bitcoin is taxed as property or a capital asset almost everywhere: the US charges 0–20% on long-term gains and brokers now report sales on Form 1099-DA; the UK charges CGT at 18% or 24%; India takes a flat 30% plus 1% TDS with no loss relief; Canada taxes half the gain and Australia halves gains after 12 months; the UAE doesn't tax individuals. In most places, swapping one crypto for another counts as a sale.
